The DSG transmission is already an engineering and performance marvel, but as with anything made for a large market of customers, it's been tamed down to apeal to as many people as possible. This means that it acts a little more like an automatic transmission than many performance oriented drivers want.

The Unitronic DSG software has optomized the shift points, rev and torque limiters present in the transmission module (critical for cars making more power than stock), as well as adjusted shifting characteristics.
