Thermal Management Safety Strategies:
With increased power, comes increased heat. With increased heat, comes the need for additional management. For charge air temperature, 034Motorsport has implemented key safety features to keep your engine running optimally and safely in virtually any condition - just like the OEM calibration. Substantial effort was spent on balancing the trade off of charge temp for power, and improving the compressor efficiency so that it doesn't generate too much charge temp.
Charge Air Temp: When the charge temp exceeds 80*C there is a reduction in power output. When the charge temp exceeds 85*C there is a more significant reduction in power output. This charge temp limitation is there to prevent knock events, which can severely damage a motor. With these safety measures in place, you can confidently drive your car, from the top of Pikes Peak to Death Valley, knowing the factory ECU has optimal performance and safety covered..
Coolant Temp/Fan Strategy: From the factory, Volkswagen likes to run hotter water temps to reduce fluid friction losses from cooler, more viscous oil. While better for efficiency, this strategy becomes a safety issue when loads and heat are increased. 034Motorsport calibrators have rescaled the coolant temperature targets and fan control strategies to target lower coolant temperatures when in higher heat conditions, allowing the car to run within a safe heat range rescaled for the added heat that comes from tuning the engine. Once again, this means that 034Motorsport calibrators have kept your confidence in safety fully intact from the OEM configuration.
Start/Stop Button Memory:
Dynamic+ Tuning for the EA888.3 2.0T retains the Start/Stop engine functionality, but allows users to set the memory for the system based on preference. If you do not want the Start/Stop system to run, turn it off via the in-cabin button and the car will store that selection even after key cycling the car. If you would like it to stay on, select it to be on via the in-cabin button. This is done in a completely OEM fashion, helping enhance the overall experience of driving your car!
Free Revving in Neutral and Park
The rev-limiter is now removed while in Neutral and Park. Impress friends and annoy those around you with limitless ease!

Torque Safety Strategy Enhancements: The Dynamic+ ECU Tuning accurately reports torque values to the TCU to ensure that all safety systems are intact in both control units, and the added torque from tuning is properly adjusted for when driving/shifting, including all safety systems designed to protect the engine and transmission. This results in better shift quality as the transmission is not having to reduce engine torque or having to adapt to misreported inputs.
Clutch Pressure Increases: In order to safely apply the increased horsepower and torque, DSG Clutch Pressures are increased in all drive modes. Expect to feel firmer and more solid shifts!
Optimized Shift Points: In order to take advantage of the increased powerband from the turbocharger, Dynamic+ Tuning optimizes the shift points in Drive & Sport Mode to maximize acceleration while retaining smooth drivability.
Improved Shift Speeds: To further enhance the acceleration of your Audi, the DL382 shift times are dramatically decreased in all driving modes, which ultimately results in quicker acceleration.
Launch Control Optimizations: From the factory, the DL382 launch control strategies used are very neutered and designed for a vehicle on a non-optimal surface with low-grip tires. 034Motorsport Engineers have optimized the launch by raising the factory RPM stall to take advantage of a better surface and a grippier tire. This ensures that your vehicle will 60ft much more effectively and efficiently, bringing down your 0-60 and 1/4mi times!
Kickdown Switch Disabled in Manual Mode: When in Manual mode, you no longer need to worry about accidentally pushing through the kickdown switch on the throttle pedal!
Gear Display in Instrument Cluster: From the factory, the instrument cluster only displayed "D" or "S" when in Drive or Sport. Now, your instrument cluster will let you know what transmission mode you are in, as well as the gear!
Dynamic+ ECU Software is only for 2017 - 2020 EA888.3 2.0T equipped vehicles. If you have a 2021+ vehicle, your vehicle is equipped with a EA888 Gen 4 engine which we do not currently support. Dynamict+ TCU Software is only for 2017 - Early 2019 DL382s, as later models are currently unflashable. ECU Tuning can be run safely on all 2017 - 2020 Models with or without TCU Software. 034Motorsport Dynamic+ Tuning is also suited for rare 6-speed manual transmission equipped B9 Audi A4 & A5!

A new revision of the 034Motorsport B9 3.0T ECU & AL552 TCU tune has been added to the server and is available to flash via your flashing portal! The 034Motorsport Calibration Team has been hard at work, further advancing the software and calibration strategies we have honed throughout the development process of our world-class EA839 tuning suite.
OEM Software Update:
Audi has made available software updates for select ECU Box Codes of the B9 Generation (2018 - 2020). These files are now available to select individuals. All users should select their ECU under “Flashing” while utilizing 034SPI or PC flashing client to see if there is an available OEM update. If you see an option labeled "OEM Update," we ask that you flash this OEM update. After flashing the OEM update, return to the ECU folder and proceed to flash your vehicle to the appropriate octane & specification that you would normally run.
For all Stage 1, 1+, 2, and 2+ customers, the R3.1 ECU Tune Update is available for flashing. This update should be flashed after the OEM software update, if that option is available to you. The R3.1 ECU Tune Update implements bug fixes and adjustments necessary to accommodate the No Auto Upshift feature. Simply log into your 034Motorsport flashing portal, select the R3.1 Revision, and flash!

Stage 2 & 3 TCU - Rolling KLi-MAX
By flashing the "+ Rolling KLi-MAX" TCU file, you are enabling Rolling KLi-MAX! KLi-MAX shifting is the activation of 034Motorsport optimized AMAX gear shifts, something that is already used as a shift strategy during the use of launch control, allowing for the quickest and fastest shifts. KLi-MAX shifts minimize the torque reduction that takes place during a gear shift while increasing necessary clutch and line pressures to safely transfer more torque throughout the gear shift.
With the addition of Rolling KLi-MAX, this shifting strategy can now be engaged at any time, not just when using launch control! This shift strategy is now added to additional transmission modes (Sport & Manual) and will activate at wide-open throttle over 5,500 RPMUsers will audibly notice the lack of "farts" while on this file at wide-open-throttle. This strategy reduces the potential for transmission slip and allows for the fastest shifts possible, and is best used when looking to maximize straight-line acceleration from a roll.

Note: We do not recommend toggling Rolling KLi-MAX during significant prolonged wide-open throttle driving, like during an HDPE Track Session.
Stage 2 & 3 TCU - No Auto Upshift
By flashing the "+No Auto Upshift" file available in your flashing portal, your vehicle will not automatically upshift in manual mode. Your vehicle instead will hold at the engine redline until you shift your car. This feature is especially helpful when driving during HDPE or Autocross events where you want to ensure the car stays in the exact gear you want. This is a feature that is standard with the factory RS5, which we now offer to you with your S4, S5, or SQ5!
Note: Stage 1 & 2 ECU Customers must be updated to the latest ECU variant (R3.1 or Later) to run this TCU file variant. We recommend all customers ensure they are flashed to the latest available version of their ECU tune visible on their flashing portal. If your current ECU variant matches the current available file, then you are up to date and ready to go!
Stage 3 TCU Only - Second Gear Launch
By flashing the "+2nd Gear Launch" file available to Stage 3 TCU customers in their flashing portal, your will be able to toggle between launching in 1st gear or 2nd gear while in the car. 034Motorsport engineers have implemented the option of 2nd Gear Launch for Stage 3 customers as a way to help manage wheelspin in lower traction surfaces. In times or locations where you experience excessive wheel spin while launching in 1st gear, you can select to launch in 2nd gear to better apply the significant torque of Stage 3.

Note: We do not recommend using this file when grip conditions are high or optimal. In our testing, we have found that the fastest accelerating launch method when grip is ideal is to launch in 1st gear.
Why Are There New Revisions?
We at 034Motorsport strive to provide the most up to date and optimized files available for your car and continually look for opportunities to improve on what we produce. As technology advances or a platform develops, we refine and Improve files as needed. In some cases, these are very minor adjustments, whereas, in others, these updates can bring a whole round of feature additions and performance changes. More info can be found below on how to identify a large change vs a minor/unnoticeable change based on the revision number.
Revision Nomenclature Breakdown
Revisions will be listed under 3 main categories, as shown in the numbering of the revision.
Example: R7.1.5
The first digit signifies a Major Revision/version change/count. In this example, 7 would be the most recent of major revisions. These numbers change when a major feature has been added or updated (such as Advanced Launch Control or higher power output files).
The second digit signifies a minor revision/version change/count or changes to files that are not considered major but are noticeable in the overall performance and refinement of the car. In this example, the 1 in R7.1.5 would mean that a minor change was added over the base R7 file.
The third digit signifies a sub-revision/version change/count or changes that are very minor/unnoticeable. These adjustments are generally box-code specific adjustments or bug fixes that change parameters of the tuning that most will never notice in their day to day driving but refines the overall file by solving minor bugs. In this example, the 5 in R7.1.5 would be the 5th minor sub-revision to this file on this box code.
Note: Not every box code needs the same sub-revision changes. Often they are box code specific and not necessary for every box code. If there is no sub-revision number listed for your file on your portal, then there is no need for an update in that category of the patch.

The 034Motorsport MLS Head Gasket Set utilizes 4 layers of steel that ensure a strong seal between the two cylinder heads, and is designed for high boost and high-stress applications, perfectly suited for B8 3.0T Stage 2 and beyond.
MLX Construction Benefits:
The MLX design, a Cometic development, utilizes an extra “stopper” fold-over layer which serves as an extra layer in the gasket. This extra layer provides a torque limiting surface that prevents the combustion seal from yielding, and contains high-temperature polymers and embossments that provides a seal to protect the head and block surface against oil and coolant. As a result, the 034Motorsport MLS Head Gasket Set allows for better combustion sealing, lower bore distortion and improved reliability. Unlike copper head gaskets, the MLX construction allows for the strongest seal around the combustion chamber while offering superior fluid sealing to ensure that this gasket set won’t cause reliability problems once installed. These semi-metallic pads offer low brake dust and noise, making them ideal for daily driving ,while providing the high coefficient of friction, initial bite, and heat resistance necessary for light-level track driving.
The StreetSport Brake Pads maintain excellent modulation and consistent linear control across a wide temperature range, performing consistently up to 1112°F (600°C). Their balance of performance and versatility make them a great choice for light-level track use without the downsides of dedicated track pads.

Brake Caliper Design:
A major weakness of the factory, cast Akebono monoblock caliper utilized on the B9/B9.5 S/RS models is its tendency to heat soak after just a few repeated braking events leading to brake fade, and even thermally expand under heat during high-performance use, particularly on track days. This thermal expansion of the OEM Caliper can cause the bleeder screw to back off, posing a potential safety risk by compromising brake performance and discoloration of the paint on your caliper.
The RS+ Big Brake Package utilizes a durable yet lightweight, CNC-machined 8-piston billet brake caliper. This design provides superior structural integrity, enhancing braking precision, pedal feel, while reducing unsprung weight over the factory Akebono calipers. The open design allows for improved heat dissipation, allowing the RS+ Brake Calipers to manage higher temperatures better, ensuring consistent performance and minimizing the risk of brake fade during extended track use.
When designing a Big Brake Kit, there's a common misconception that larger brakes inherently produce more stopping power. With an improperly designed larger brake caliper for the car it is being installed upon, more bias is shifted towards the front, which is not ideal for a vehicle that already has a front-heavy brake bias. The factory S/RS 6-Piston Akebono calipers generate more than enough brake force to engage ABS, which is the limit of braking maximum, but lack the ability to better balance this force across all 4 wheels repeatedly as heat is generated. For these reasons, 034Motorsport engineers sought specifically to improve brake balance, increase heat capacity, and improve heat transfer of the front brakes to allow for better high-load braking performance for a significantly longer period of time.
The RS+ Big Brake Package was engineered with a 12% smaller piston area in comparison to the factory S4/RS5 brakes to strategically shift more braking force to the rear brakes. This improved redistribution of braking load keeps the car more flat during threshold braking (braking as hard as possible without engaging ABS), reducing front-end dive, and better redistributes braking force to all 4 corners, versus overloading just the front two. This optimized balance allows for better control, allowing for sharp turn-in response, more rotation in trail braking, and giving drivers greater confidence and precision when navigating corners, particularly in high-performance driving scenarios on the track.
2-Piece Rotor Design:
The RS+ Big Brake Package includes larger, Floating 2-Piece 390x34mm Brake Rotors. By increasing the rotor size to a massive 390mm, the RS+ Big Brake Package enhances performance by increasing the overall surface area and heat dissipation capacity. The larger rotor increases the lever arm on the brakes which improves braking force, improves stopping power and responsiveness, and gives drivers more control and confidence, especially during high-speed, heavy braking.
The central hat portion of the 034Motorsport rotor is made of 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum. The disc is constructed from a proprietary metal alloy that can withstand immense braking temperatures while holding form.
The 034Motorsport 2-Piece Floating Brake Rotors utilize 72 directionally curved vanes properly oriented for each side of the vehicle to forcefully flow cool air through both rotors to dissipate heat equally. The larger 390mm rotor diameter allows for enhanced cooling under high-heat conditions, such as track use or aggressive driving to help prevent brake fade. By managing heat more efficiently, these rotors maintain consistent braking performance during extended periods of intense use, ensuring the driver has more control and confidence when pushing their braking system to its limits.
The face of the 034Motorsport 2-Piece Floating Brake Rotors utilize J-Slot slots to clean the pad and surface of contaminants and allows hot pad outgassing, all while reducing overall braking noise compared to a traditional slotted rotor.
The 034Motorsport rotor and hat floating mount system utilize high-strength alloy steel bobbins. The pins take the load from braking actions while maintaining the axial and radial float between the hat and disc, allowing for safe expansion and contraction from heat.
Brake Line Design:
The RS+ Brake Package uses Teflon-lined stainless steel braided brake lines and a protective black PVC covering. Unlike the stock rubber hose, this stainless steel braided hose will not bulge or expand with brake pressure, resulting in an improved pedal feel and more consistent braking performance.
